I have lived in Wokingham area since 1983, and in Swallowfield since 1998, by far the longest time I have lived anywhere.
My two children went to Farley Hill School. My wife and I consider ourselves to be very fortunate to be living in such a beautiful and friendly village.
I originally trained as a civil engineer, later moving into loss prevention consultancy and then underwriting with a large industrial and commercial property insurer.
Since I retired a few years ago I have been looking for ways to get more involved in our community, and have decided it is time to move on from occasionally helping out, and to participate more actively. I started with the Swallowfield Community Speedwatch initiative and now intend to expand my involvement.
I am particularly interested in maintaining the attractiveness and livability of our parish, especially in areas such as littering and vandalism, excessive speed, road maintenance and availability of infrastructure services. I feel I can bring my skills to the Parish Council’s plans and actions to address these areas.
Located in Berkshire and part of the borough of Wokingham, the parish of Swallowfield consists of the villages and settlements of Swallowfield, Riseley, Farley Hill and Stanford End. Swallowfield Parish Council has nine councillors.
