The Swallowfield Show
The first Swallowfield Show took place in 1884. It is held on Sunday and Monday of the August Bank Holiday weekend in the grounds of Swallowfield Park.
The annual event, which welcomes upto 7,000 visitors of all ages over two days, is organised and run by volunteer members and friends of the Swallowfield Horticultural Society. It aims to benefit the local community and to raise money for local charities, whilst attracting people from far afield. In 2018 Swallowfield Horticultural Society won a Queen's Award for Voluntary Serivce.
The Show traditionally features horse, dog and classic car shows, live music, a funfair, children's games and entertainment, whilst the horticultural marquee, at the heart of the Show, invites gardeners, crafters, artists and photographers to display their products and compete in dozens of competition categories.
