Having lived in the village of Riseley for over 21 years I believe in a community that works for itself and its neighbours to improve the general quality of life experience for everyone
I am in full-time employment with a large technology company and manage a revenue budget in excess of $1.5m focused on Cybersecurity Education and best practice
The reason for joining the Parish Council is primarily to see if I can contribute to the future wellbeing of Swallowfield, Farley Hill and Riseley. I believe in democracy and supporting democratic decisions whatever outcome I may have favoured.
It is my belief we need to engage with and support more local community activities, this means thinking outside “the box”. When Filomena and I moved to Riseley we supported (and continue to support) the carol singing in Swallowfield (organised by Fred Holloway) – Then thought why not in Riseley? Together with Michele Swift and Pam Wright we started and have never looked back – Just one idea that with community support soon becomes a normal village activity which the Parish Council supports. Other schemes and events such as Jubilee and Coronation rely 100% on local people to get together, this needs encouragement and support.
Located in Berkshire and part of the borough of Wokingham, the parish of Swallowfield consists of the villages and settlements of Swallowfield, Riseley, Farley Hill and Stanford End. Swallowfield Parish Council has nine councillors.
