Fieldfayre Update
The Parish Council has resolved to submit a request to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) via the Berkshire Association of Local Councils for permission to apply to the Public Works Loans Board (PWLB) to borrow money which will be used to fund the Fieldfayre project. The PWLB provides long term loans to local government bodies on very favourable terms based on those available to The Treasury. Loan interest and repayments will be funded from the development itself. The money from the sale of The Marshes House in Riseley Common has also been set aside in capital reserves for the project.
The architect continues to develop the detailed design and documentation for buildings regulations approval and tendering purposes. A structural engineer and ground survey / soil testing consultant have been appointed and a structural survey of the main building has been completed. The results will inform the detailed design. The Parish Council also meets regularly with Mr Kumar to keep him informed and to discuss how best to overcome the implications of the building works on the continued operation of the Post Office and Stores.
